Dallas Cowboys at New Orleans Saints (Thursday - 8:20)
The New Orleans Saints started this season 5-2 and looked like a surprise dark horse contender until their starting QB Jameis Winston got injured, as well as star RB Alvin Kamara and other key offensive pieces. Trevor Siemian has not been able to move the Saints downfield as they average only 309.4 yards per game (6th fewest in the NFL), though Siemian has posted his best TD:INT ratio (3:1) and QB Rating (86.0) of his career. It looks like the Saints will give Taysom Hill a chance to start at QB this week. The 31-year-old Hill performed well last season in limited appearances, completing 88 of 121 passes for a 98.8 QB Rating, so it makes sense to see if he can give the Saints a spark after their dismal performance on offense last week. On the other hand, the Cowboys have been healthy, and will get back top receivers CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper this week. However, they may both be limited, and that could take some of the sting of the Cowboys' offense away, and allow the Saints' defense to focus on containing the 1-2 RB punch from Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard. If the Saints can slow down the Cowboys and find some playmaking on offense, they could get themselves back in the playoff picture with a win at home.
Spread: Cowboys favored by 5 points
Over/under: 48
